Character ability: Can't Stop the Beat
  • While dashing, Big Band cannot be interrupted (but will take damage normally)

Tier 1: Epic Sax
Rarity: gold

  • Gain 3% bonus damage per COMBO HIT, up to a 50% bonus
  • Gain a random beneficial COMBAT EFFECT for every 10 COMBO HITS

  • Take Five - Forces enemy to TAG OUT on HIT, removing all COMBAT EFFECTS

Blockbusters:
  • Beat Extend BB1 - 8% bonus damage if opponent is in the air (worth upgrading to lvl 15)
  • Strike Up The Band BB3 - If used to defeat an opponent, gain 30% meter for all BLOCKBUSTERS
  • Super-sonic Jazz BB1 - 10% chance on HIT to STUN opponent for 6 seconds (worth upgrading to lvl 15)
  • Take the 'A' Train BB2 - 50% chance on HIT to gain ARMOR for 10 seconds
  • Tuba Tuba BB3 - 25% chance on HIT to STUN opponent for 6 seconds (worth upgrading to lvl 15)
  • Tympani Drive BB2 - 50% bonus damage if opponent is STUNNED

Robocopy only gains Armor/Enrage/Blockbuster Meter when he defeats an opponent, not when he tags in.

Also, how come Tuba Tuba isn't on Epic Sax's movelist, even though all the other Big Bands get it?

Thanks for correcting, I've updated it with the right info.

Epic Sax is better off with Strike Up the Band since it does around 50 hits so he'll get at least 5 buffs.

But, how many hits does Tuba Tuba do (I wouldn't know, I don't have Tuba Tuba)? And doesn't Strike Up The Band do fewer hits if you're close to the corner, thus potentially giving you fewer buffs?

Yeah, it kinda does a little, since (according to my calculator, which could be wrong) it only takes 17 hits to reach 100% extra damage, and my Big Band can reach that with just dash-attack > tap combo > launcher > 3-hit air combo > Super Sonic Jazz (can probably omit SSJ for a tap combo in the corner).
Plus you might get Enrage after the first 10 hits, pushing your damage even higher (assuming I understand Epic Sax's random-buff-every-10-hits thing correctly, anyway).
So yeah, Epic Sax really lives up to the name once you give him all his upgrades, or at least it looks that way to me.

Oh, I see why you went with Strike Up The Band in that case. I thought it would do more hits (it kinda looks like it would, to me), but if that's the case, then yeah, Strike Up The Band is quite a bit better for Epic Sax.

Did something change with Big Band? I've noticed a lot of opponents falling out of his basic combo or blocking after the second or third hit while I'm mashing.
Edit: Seems to occur with airborne opponents mostly so I think it's just the change to airborne combos with 1.2. changing the timing seems to fixed it altogether.

I just noticed you have Bassline's rarity listed as gold, despite him being bronze. I assume this is just a minor error on your part.

With the conclusion of Big Band's Beatdown, I have a new robocopy and Epic Sax. Epic Sax is new, but as for Robocopy I already have two other silvers (Bassline (upgraded) and Res Evil). Do I sac the robocopy to power up one of the others, keep it to power up, or save it to upgrade Res Evil?

Save it to evolve Resonant Evil
 
Just to let you know, even as a gold, Resonant Evil Big Band is lacking 1 move point to do the full loadout you recommended.

I highly recommend equipping Noise Cancel for every variant of Big Band since that's his best special move.
