Update: May 5 - Version 4.7.1 notes:

- Fixed an issue with the Featured Offers in the new Store.
- Fixed an issue where the new Fighters introduced in 4.7 would appear in the Catalog as if they were already owned.

Update 4.7 is finally here!

As mentioned in our 2021 Preview, a big focus for this year is improving existing systems and features in Skullgirls Mobile. You’ll find some of those improvements in this update, with many more yet to come later in the year. Of course we couldn’t resist including some brand new content too!

NEW ADDITIONS

STORE REDESIGN

One key feature of this update is the significantly redesigned Store.

Up until now, the Store could be a little overwhelming if several Offers had all been triggered simultaneously. These new tabs will highlight Giveaways and Offers and make it easier to find whatever Offer you may be looking for.

Please note that initially this new Store will only be available to some players, so don’t be alarmed if you see the old store. It will be made more widely available at a later date.

CINCO DE MAYO EVENT

The ¡VIVA LA FIESTA! Prize Fight will return this year, featuring Bandera Relics!

The Bandera Relic is similar to previous Event Relics and will contain a small pool of themed and popular Fighters

The ¡VIVA LA FIESTA! Prize Fight will start on May 5th and run for 4 Days. This event requires an Air, Light and Fire Fighter on your team, so players with deep, diverse collections will really get to shine! Like other special event Prize Fights, there are huge rewards available, including tons of Bandera Relics.

HOLODECK HAZARDS

Holodeck Hazards made its debut in 4.6 as a special limited time event. During its run we received lots of feedback about the mode, and as promised we’ve made some adjustments to it for 4.7.

In 4.6, Holodeck was only available on the weekend and refreshed every hour. While this version of the mode was very popular and well received, we also noticed a couple recurring points of feedback:
  • Several popular events already run on weekends. Adding in Holodeck on top those events made weekends a bit overcrowded.
  • Having the event refresh regularly throughout the day was very stressful, with many players feeling they had to play the mode at every refresh opportunity or feel they were missing out.
To address these issues, we have adjusted Holodeck to be available once a day, every day! This will still allow players to gain large amounts of XP quickly without an overt amount of stress, and it should fit into everyone’s schedule.

A shark’s work is never done though, and we expect Stanley to make further adjustments and additions to the mode in future updates.

CHECKMATE INCISION

As Skullgirls has grown, we’ve been pushing the technical limits of each new Character added to the roster. You can really see this with Annie, who has All The Tools, including a whole host of Special Moves and Blockbusters that can be used in the air.

In the first of many updates to earlier Characters, Valentine’s Checkmate Incision has been upgraded to allow players to use it in the air. Try squeezing it into your air juggles or after a Laryngectomy to see what new combo routes you can find!

ECONOMY CHANGES

RELIC ADJUSTMENTS
  • Creature of Habit, Biting Cold and Prism Plumage have all been added to standard Relics.
OTHER CHANGES

MISC

  • Adjusted the flame colors on Thrill Shrieker's palette.
  • Fixed an issue where Holodeck Hazards and Accursed Experiments would not properly refresh after their Event Timers expired.
  • Fixed some issues where players could get stuck in the Tutorial.
  • Fixed an issue where Health Remaining points were not being counted correctly in Rift Battles.
  • Fixed an issue where Fighters were not being properly released from Deployments.
  • Fixed an issue where the in-game chat window could be cut off on the homescreen.
  • Updated some Characters’ home stages to be more narratively accurate. (When you view a Fighter in your collection, their home stage will be used as the backdrop)

COMBAT
  • Fixed an issue where Biting Cold Painwheel would ignore On-Death Signature Abilities.
  • Fixed an issue where Biting Cold’s Revive Block SA would not trigger if the opponent was defeated with a throw.
  • Fixed an issue where Biting Cold’s Revive Block SA would not trigger if the opponent revived instantly after being defeated.
  • Fixed an issue where the Clear! modifier could revive Fighters after they had been defeated with Catastrophe Canon Omega.
  • Fixed an issue where the fight could get stuck in the ‘Super Flash’ state if Peacock was defeated and revived when activating Shadow of Impending Doom.
  • Fixed an issue where the stage tinting would become permanent if a Fighter was defeated during their own Blockbuster.

There’s been unconfirmed reports that some new Fighters have snuck into this update… Apparently these new Variants will only appear as AI controlled opponents for now. If you encounter any of these Fighters, make sure to take a screenshot and let us know!

I do hope an alternative to this new Holodeck is applied, since it just isn't 2x XP friendly at all, and from the previous one you could do like 4 to 5 runs with one 4h 2x XP. Hopefully it occurs, but as of now, I doubt it'll be useful unless you intend to go for it on some other event, i.e. high streak pf or Pea Master. But everything in due time.

Also props for quickly getting patched Biting Cold, that really needed to be fixed. Other than that, all I can say is keep it up.

Let's gooo, hopefully alternate voice packs for 2nd encore are added to the mobile version, maybe in shiny fighters :D it all looks amazing.

Thank you guys for your hardwork 🙏 should i say this something good and can't wait to play it.

I do agree for holodeck and to stabilize the game itself too. I'm just wondering, why the variant on "Bandera Relics" especially Diamond variants not consist of 1 fire, 1 wind and 1 light? but instead 2 lights and 1 fire, that 1 dia variants "dream band" Already shown on previous "Bandera Relics"?.

That just my curiosity, you can ignore it hahahha. Hope everything is good and smooth while the update in progress💎💎💎

i think we need some 1 hr 2x XP booster to make it more compatible with Holodeck Hazards. Since we will be able to play just once per day, this new 1hr XP booster would be more friendly with new and all players
I'm very excited for all the new changes in the game

Yes.
Even 2hr 2x XP booster may work.
I mean who plays continuously for 4hrs, except Rifters, maybe

the new store looks really nice, shame holodeck is only once a day though xp boosters are about to really be valuable.

esta bien todo el esfuerzo que hacen para que el juego vaya bien y evolucionen. Pero mi única queja es que hay muchos hackes en el juego y ya van seis veces que reclamo y no hacen nada porfavor soluciones eso y mas porque se ven en las peleas de brechas los hackes

Maybe it's future-proofing so the devs don't have to rush the next update out before the holiday PF after this one and they can take their time on 5.0? Or maybe they were originally intended to be in the Bandera relics but there was some sort of scheduling hiccup, and so they got pushed back to the Holiday after this one? Either way, I'll keep an eye out for them.

Or perhaps, they're hinting at something far bigger, like, say, a Neutral Element expansion with relics and catalysts and everything it would need to be a full element of its own...

Last guess is that they are planning some new catalysts and these variants will only make more sense with those released.

Huh, so there's a precedent! And now that you mention Elemental Exclusives, it looks like the three silhouettes shown are all from fighters that have one: Parasoul, Big Band, and Valentine. I wonder if that's coincidence or if all the fighters with EE variants are getting their 5th Golds all at once (except Painwheel since she got hers early).

The only other things I can think of is that they might be new Character Relic Exclusives, or maybe the PF reward variants are being removed from relics entirely and these new fighters are being added to all relics to replace them.

I wonder if they'll show up in the Catalog...

IMO just putting holodeck like once every 3 hours or something like that would solve the "already too much events and feeling of being left out" problem, but i guess its better than not having any holodeck lol. also, the relics' content kinda disappointed me, this event's mod is pretty peculiar and kind of hard to avoid, so i think the rewards should be... idk, better? well, timeless is good for prize fights, so i guess thats kinda good, but like hasnt triple threat been used in like 3 different events? idk lol, but anyway, cant say im not excited for 4.7, specially cuz of val's buff. hope to see more stuff revamped in this year!

Would be cool to re-enter the Holodeck Hazards by melting down useless currencies like bronze keys, red rift tickets, and bronze character relics. 🤔 I have hundreds of 'em and I don't know what to do with them

Plenty of stuff to get HYPED about:

🧡 New Mystery Fighters: be sure to play their Dailies for the highest chance of encountering them! (Big Band = Tuesday, Valentine = Wednesday, Parasoul = Sunday)
💛 Bandera Relic is full of rare/interesting fighters

Pretty excited for this patch! Last time Holo was around I missed out due to being a newer player. I've made some progress (hopefully) since then, fingers crossed I can make it part of my daily routine. Super stoked for what's to come
