When I open skullgirls, it shows that I have three notifications from story mode, when it fully loads they disappear immediately.

Speaking from personal experience (since this happens to me on a regular basis), it seems that the home screen is showing like this because it is connecting to the servers.
Be that as it may, if you wait a bit, the ¨error¨ fixes itself.

It's one of a handful of minor issues regarding our red notification dots, something that we may or may not polish at some point. I think it's just saying there's story mode content yet to complete.
