Has anyone found out the limit to fighters collection space or is it simply unlimited? Just want to know before I bust out every Theonite on more probably useless room.

In the weeks leading up to version 2.6, Liam stated in response to this very question that there is a cap on how many times you can expand your collection(s). Liam did not give a specific number as part of his answer, though. As such, no one (myself included) knows what the absolute maximum number of fighters/moves you can have.
