Switch between characters whenever I want to

i’m fairly new to Skullgirls and I don’t understand how to switch characters.
I want to be able to do it whenever I want to.
right now I have three characters picked to fight with, but I want to able to switch to any other character whenever I want.

any help would be appreciated.

Building a team prefight: After tapping a node, you will be taken to a prefight screen. Tapping the TEAM button will pull up a scroll menu of every character in your collection that can be filtered by things like character, element, level, etc. Drag a character from the scroll menu up to a card slot to add them to the team over the character that was previously in that slot.
Tagging in combat: You can tag out your active character for a fighter in the back by tapping the portrait of the character that you wish to tag into. The back fighter will then use their tag in attack. Tagging has a cooldown that must refill before you can tag between characters again.
