Won my latest rift, but no way this person scored this high legitimately against my base using these fighters when my toughest opponents struggle really hard to score over 22k. I don't buy it. They don't even have great moves or anything.

Match began 4:04 PM GMT-4. The score is technically possible, but not with his terrible roster. The only thing that stopped them from getting an impossible score is that they lost once. You can check there profile, they have a ton of high level fighters with no/barely any investment. Also, they have a very suspiciously high score gain in just one season.
