Other Private Dick SA2

I don't think private Dicks' second signature ability to gain 50% resistance to all debuffs is working.... I confirmed it with doubles prize fight, with each opponent I defeat with dick I get 3 debuffs, there was no resistance whatsoever.... Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong...

Resistance has no effect on match modifiers, it only counters opponent abilities such as signature abilities, marquees, prestige abilities or debuffs inflicted through special moves/blockbusters.

I think I have played him against opponent that inflict debuffs but it didn't work. Would try again
