Hits inflict 1000% bonus damage during the last 10 seconds of every minute.

I haven't had much time to play yet (see how late this thread is?), but how are the modifiers? Is the 1000% bonus damage a terrifying tide-turner or something too rare to play a part in your strategies? I want to try unblockable punching someone with Heavy Handed Cerebella at ENRAGE x5 during the 10 seconds window to see if 999,999 damage appears on screen.

Yeah, Final Countdown can catch you off guard...watch that clock, but for the most part, you can easily exploit it...just don't whiff on a move and get punished in those 10 seconds! Also, I wouldn't 'blindly' do auto-battles, even in early streaks, it's that devastating.

What do y'all think about the event now that it's halfway done?

Even I get blindsided by that damage explosion when I get too much into autopilot mode!

Hmm this pf is very easy for any player due damage buff if they have unblockable fighters like beo hype mode for last 10 secs to dish out high damage. Curse and immunity is something I didn't expect to be annoying but it is definitely. One could literally be played by AI in last 10 sec to restart the streak it's soo annoying too. This pf according to me is exciting as well as frustrating.

This PF is fun! I especially like the great balance between being powered-up and in grave danger. Had several giant-killer fights pulling a miracle win in that 10 seconds window. And for every high-streak save, there are plenty of sudden losses (don't underestimate the BB-happy Elizas). Very sudden, and amazingly brutal defeats. Definitely keeps things interesting.

And I agree the Party Starter modifier (tag in with timeless IMMUNITY or CURSE) is annoying. It's effect is minor and random, but it often just gets in the way. 1 in 10 times the stars align and you get a clutch CURSE (an ICU Valentine, a extra-tanky Big Band, Model Leader Annie, etc.), but mostly it barely helps and mostly hurts.

did you finish it? im struggling in this prize fight but i finally got over 12 mil in prize fights!

One thing I've liked about this prizefight is that HV has not gone down the road of awarding exclusives as 150 million rewards or random event relic pulls. Doing so would have set a difficult precedent to maintain- and helps keep the excitement factor alive when a player does pull an elemental or timed exclusive fighter.

I'm guessing you're referring to the Death Wish 'drop' in the Oct/Halloween Event PF.

I think opinions about 'exclusive' (like the Elemental Exclusives) and 'early access' (like Death Wish or any new variant) fighters being in the Event Relic pools are at least split or might lean towards wanting to see them more(?). There's no denying that the times it has happened, it was the best odds on getting that fighter.

IMHO the Monthly PFs are 'community' style Events (most comparable to 'Raids' - like in Pokemon Go) . A chance for all players to add a difficult to obtain (thanks RNG) fighter to their collection.

I'm certain that there is data that shows an increase in player participation when an 'exclusive' is offered in an Even PF.
Should HVS offer an 'exclusive' fighter in every Event PF? No. But I think there's no harm in doing it once in a while.

New fighters in a special PF makes it even more special. Definitely a big motivator for me.
did you finish it?
Yes, but I got a duplicate Furry Fury Ms. Fortune and felt depressed, lol 😅 (the 1 in 5 I least wanted). Oh well, at least the road to 150 million was fun. Fantastic modifiers.

CONCLUSION
Beginnings & Ends Prize Fight (January Special Event) [01-01-22 / 01-31-22]
- #1 - 2,027,641,329
- #100 - 381,606,660

- 30% - 5,833,099
- 60% - 867,039

Pretty good turn-out (hello, person who went 2 BILLION) for a new PF's debut. Above average. One can judge PF popularity by their 10% numbers:

February 2022 - Valentine's = 44,054,343
March 2022 - St. Patrick's = 28,025,011
April 2022 - Spring Cleaning = 26,071,020
May 2022 - Cinco de Mayo = 25,864,870
June 2022 - Summer Vacation = 26,429,922
July 2022 - Independence Day = 25,067,077
August 2022 - Slots O' Fun = 21,006,395
September 2022 - Back to School = 13,730,246
October 2022 - Halloween = 31,518,187
November 2022 - Thanksgiving = 27,261,338
December 2022 - Winter Holidays = 22,652,439

Look at September's PF, A Class of One's Own. That INVINCIBLE modifier really put people off. I wonder what got people hyped for February though?

Going back a little farther, the 2021-2022 two-month Season's Beatings had a similar 10% cutoff at 49 million. I think last February's higher score was due to a combination of players not yet being used to full-month holiday events and the fighters available in the first-ever Heartbreaker Relics -- 4 of the 5 fighters are generally considered "top-tier" in one way or another. Craic Some Heads 2022, by comparison, had much "worse" fighters in its Tree of Life Relics, and likely suffered from being a second straight month of nonstop Final Stand lack-of-action.

In February 2022, the Prize Fight event had a Valentine's theme, which likely contributed to its popularity. Themed events often attract more players due to the special rewards, exclusive fighters, or unique modifiers associated with the theme. Valentine's events could have introduced new fighters or offered limited-time rewards, motivating players to participate and resulting in the higher turnout with a 10% score of 44,054,343. 🤯
