On a mechanics level, learning a skill node takes a targeted grind(character relics) and a general grind(coins). Giving the option to bypass both grinds with entirely theonite removes the feeling of character progression and might contribute to a p2w aspect of the game.
My suggestion:
Relics should still be required to learn skill nodes, with theonite only being used to bypass the gold requirement. This would keep the feeling of progression in tact by requiring specific characters to be leveling in order to power up your main pallet.
The theonite cost should remain the same, no issue with that.
What do you all think of the option change for skill nodes? I think it renders relics useless to milestone clearing players.
Side note: Because this patch releasing in its current state is pretty much inevitable, will there be another form of character progression using relics coming soon? *hint hint*rerollingmoveswithrelics(1/3/5 relics for B/S/G)?
