There have been many discussions surrounding features/ideas at making it easier to get variants you want and minimizing unnecessary dupes.

On the player side, I fully understand why you want this, but on the business side, I’m not sure if they want this.

I’ve only played 2 gacha games (Bleach Brave Souls and Skullgirls Mobile) so excuse my ignorance, but from what I’ve noticed, it seems as if the point is to make it as nearly impossible to get every unit/the most coveted units while also adding more units to always have something to strive towards to maximize profits.

Are there any (successful) Gachas where it’s fully possible for players, F2P or otherwise, to get every unit available? And more importantly….

SHOULD that be the case with this game? What would prevent players from becoming bored and quitting? (not like that’s not already happening now lol but you get what I mean)

It's definitely possible, but it takes a loooot of time. The Battlepass catch-up mechanic was nice, however unless you're a dedicated player and can reliably grind Gold and Diamond shards, it's not really something you can rely on. In any case, I've collected every variant for several characters now after 1 year of play

Is it really? On paper, it seems like you can theoretically get every unit in the game. In actuality though, I don’t know of any player that has a FULLY completed catalogue. (Even super veterans like HeGunz, Kevin Pepino, Dusty, etc.)

There are different type of monetizations for games. This one's main income is from the units themselves. So it is normal for them to make it considerably harder to get them all.

I can give you an example from another game, Epic Seven. I had almost all the units (F2P) as it was easier to achieve it there. However that wasn't because the game was super-generous (tho it was quite f2p-friendly to a point), there is a reason for it, you can get them all for sure, but you can't gear them up that well. As their main income was the in-game energy itself which was used to grind more gear and try to roll them perfectly. You had to buy energy continously to grind more and try to craft the perfect piece (In Skullgirls It is like trying to upgrading a gold move to +15 with +0 +0 +15 stat distribution). It felt incredibly grindy and way too RNG based that I stopped playing it after years.

In Skullgirls there is no need for perfect rolls and progression is quite linear and simple but time-gated by coins and other materials instead.

Given your registration date, you probably already know that, but RNG plays a huuuuge role into that. I still don't have Inner Pieces Eliza, a variant you can only obtain from a gold gift, even after receiving over 1000 gold gifts. Same with Elemental exclusives, I've opened hundreds of Fire relics and still don't have Pyro Technique Valentine. I've told this story many times, but there was a guy in the forums, fresh player that got lucky and got a shiny Death Wish while still at level 20. Ironically, he quit the game about a month or two after, but the point still stands, luck is the name of the game when it comes to pulls.
