Please I thought normally, you still win the match if the total number of health points on your team exceeds that of the opponent even after the timer runs out. or is this only a feature specifically for 2nd encore?

Correct. There is no "win by decision" in SGM -- the only way to win is to KO all opposing fighters before the timer runs out.

Other way is to K.O. the opponent, even if it K.O. you LATTER, like Inmoral Fiber. So you can perfrom a BB3 in order to kill her and win, even if you end with all your characters KO as well.

But be aware, because you have to die AFTER the oponent, TORNS effect can KO you first even if you are in the middle of a BB3 that would KO your opponent, so counts like a loss
