Like the game but can you please take off the stamina system it's hard to obtain bottle refills
 
I’m a fan of the change to Eliza’s prize fight name; that was always uncomfortable to see. Thank you!

Slime seems concerningly strong considering how more than half the fighters gain buffs outside of fight modifiers. I’m holding judgement until I play around it but on paper it seems more like it’ll destroy pretty much everyone with little effort, especially in prize fights like spring cleaning and fighters like evergreen evil who gain stacks of buffs. Then again a little counterplay against vaporwave vixen is nice. Hmmmmm… at the very least I know you wouldn’t put something in without extensive testing, and I remember thorns and power surge being incredibly **** to deal with when they first dropped but now they’re mostly copeable.

REALLY SUPER DELUXE EXCITED FOR BLACK DAHLIA!!! I’ve been saving my bronze, premiere, and gold move relics in anticipation! I HAVE OVER 200 RELICS TO OPEN ITLL BE A HOLIDAY BONANZA!!!

Earning all rewards isn't too difficult.
You can get 110 Egret points real quick without Rifts:
  • Log in - 10 EP
  • Open the Cabinet of Curiosities - 10 EP
  • Send a Gift - 15 EP
  • Deploy a Fighter - 10 EP
  • Win a Story Mode Match - 15 EP
  • Win a Daily Event Match - 15 EP
  • Win a Prize Fight Match - 15 EP
  • Complete a Versus Mode Match - 20 EP (I don't even have to fight back...)
So, you can either skip Deployment or opening the CoC and still get 100 pts.
I like the new Daily Ops! Easiest 50Theo (and 10KCC) ever earned!
I have not even finished any matches yet, hehe...

UPDATE - May 4th 2022

We just released a small update that fixes a few Umbrella centric issues and also an adjustment to event reward delivery:

  • To increase server stability, we have made some adjustments to how our rewards are processed at the end of events. There will now be a two hour processing period after each Prize Fight and Rift Battle Season has completed before reward mail will begin to be sent out.
  • Fixed an issue where Umbrella would not take Miasma damage.
  • Fixed an issue where Tongue Twister would not grab opponents with Unflinching.
  • Fixed an issue where Umbrella was immune to Double's Catellite Lives after being forcefully tagged in.
  • Fixed an issue where Umbrellas jumping combo (also known as a J3) would deal different numbers of hits depending on when you input it.
  • Fixed an issue where using Acid Reflux, then Feeding Time (BB3) would cause a soft-lock.
  • Fixed an issue where Umbrella's Character Ability and Bobblin' Bubble could not be used if either of them had a bubble active.
 
Patch 5.0 review:

Umbrella​

Perfect adaptation from 2nd Encore. Even the move icons are hilarious. Fun character to play as or against.

I've seen some people complaining in chat that Umbrella's hitstun animation is confusing. They argue it misreads as a block since other characters also use objects to block (e.g. Beowulf's chair, Squigly has curled Leviathan into a shield, etc.). They just need to get used to how a hit is thin (collapsed Hungern) and a block is thick (Hungern in full deployed umbrella mode). I dunno, were they hoping Umbrella was going to be directly punched?

Daily Event: Pier Pressure​

Fun and easy to clear both MASTER and EXPERT levels quickly hoping for gold moves. No annoying auto-blocks like in Annie's Daily or any insane treasure nodes like Robo-Fortune's heavy bleed node.

SLIME​

Haven't experienced it much, but doesn't appear to be much of a threat.

Viewing Parlor (nothing to do with the patch, lol)​

Ads have evolved into new tedium. After progress bar concludes, the "X" leads to a 3,2,1 countdown to a ">>" that then leads to another "X" that waits 5s to appear. The worst are the ones that take you to their store install page even though you tap the "X"

Daily Ops​

A thousand times easier. 50 theonite and $10k for doing normal things instead of odd jobs like 10x mono-element team fights or taking a Bronze through 20 fights. Finally free from over-revisiting Story Mode levels:

20x Bronze/Silver or 5x/10x Story Mode fights
Story Mode: A Fishbone to Pick - Expert - Little Innsmouth - Node 1: Dread Locks Filia

Beowulf - Fan Favorite - Robo-Fortune - Number Cruncher

These are new, extremely rare Fighters that can only be obtained through giveaways and in-person events. These Fighters are intended to be difficult to obtain, and are designed as special show pieces if you're lucky enough to grab one.

We already run regular developer giveaways on Twitch where you can get your hands on these, but we plan on giving MANY more opportunities in the near future. Keep an eye on our social pages for more information on that front. (Twitter - Facebook - Instagram)

Similarly we plan on supporting many more in-person events (not just in the US) where international players will have their chance to pick these up.

  • Fixed an issue where the final hit of Umbrella's air combo could be canceled with Specials.

  • Added a second enemy to the boss node in Umbrella's Expert Daily Event.

  • Fixed some text issues in Spanish and German.
Also, we have been investigating reports of players not being able to access the Store and now have some information about it.

Firstly, the Google Play Store and Apple App Store have been disabled in Russia. As the Skullgirls Store uses these two systems to operate, this also means the Store in Skullgirls will not work if you are in Russia.

If you are NOT from Russia, but are still unable to access the Store please do the following:

1) Make sure you have a valid login on your account. (Open the Options menu and check the Account page).
2) Uninstall Skullgirls Mobile.
3) Reinstall Skullgirls Mobile.
4) Check the Store to see if it is available.

I wonder if HVS is aware Jawbreaker Double and Candy Crusher Umbrella have the same name in Spanish. They are both "Quebra-Queixo"

Isn't language interesting? Is a 'literal' translation always necessary?

Double's Jawbreaker is the NA reference to the candy 'Gobstopper' (gob is slang for mouth) that originated in the UK. Seems there is Brazilian equivalent confectionary called "jaw/chin breaker" with Quebra-Queixo. Seems to be an appropriate translation there.

Candy Crusher (name only) is a reference to the game series Candy Crush (Saga), right? Has that title been translated in app stores in other countries or is it just known as Candy Crush (Saga)?

I know translations are tricky; especially puns and slang even more so. I guess with both Jawbreaker and Candy Crusher having a common theme of 'candy', seems the translator didn't know Quebra-Queixo was already taken?

Still an interesting development. I look forward to Candy Crusher's new Portuguese name!

As many many games, we often don´t see so much change in the names in the spanish language appstore. There are only a few apps that changes their names, but games as Clash Royale, Skullgirls, Egg. Ink, Reaper Story Online, Necromancer, etc. keeps their original names, and translates their content, or even they just launch in English, wich makes them get a lot of complains in the reviews like "I wish I could understand the story, but no english", "Please translate to spanish", and so.

I have a good pun for Miss Fortune "Claw and Order", but to late for "La ley y el desorden" right? 😅

It's the same reviews on Brazil. It's very unfair IMO. But I can understand how frustrating this can be.

This is where translations get tricky;

Summer Salt is play on 'somersault' the acrobatic move (which Parasoul does a lot in her attacks).
While 'Salty' can also be slang for being angry/upset. (and her palette is also the Morton Salt girl logo)
Again, both names refer to salt, so the translation is literal: 'salted' and 'the salty'.

Yes, Umbrella likes ice cream, and ice cream is sweet. Kids like sweets. Candy is sweet, eating lots of candy can make you a 'candy crusher' (I still think it is a nod to Candy Crush the game). The phrase 'sweet tooth' is for someone (especially an adult) who likes to eat a lot of sweets. If ignoring the Candy Crush nod, then I'd agree that 'Candy Crusher' means 'eats lots of candy' which 'Sweet Tooth' is a fair comparison.

There's a reason we say "lost in translation". Really good translators are more like word artists and need to be well versed in the subtlety and nuance in both languages they are working with.

And I agree that is it a little bit 'rude' and frustrating to offer an English language game in other non-English speaking countries without full translation (especially if purchases are involved). Which brings up the question: how is translations handled at HVS? Internally? Outsourced? Machine-based translations? I mean, how did 2 variants end up with the same name and make it to release?

Did 5.0.2.2 also come with a Prize Fight rebalance?

Trying to get to 10 million in Gold and it is brutal. Once you get to a 20 streak, all three opponent choices are all 80k FS. I'd say more but I lost at 23. Anyone else experiencing sharp inclines in difficulty in the PF streaks?

Me! The sama thing is happening in the Sun of a Beach Prize Fight. I hope this isn't a permanent thing

I've personally noticed new matchmaking issues in rifts, where you're systematically matched with lower ranks (~25pts per match instead of the old average ~30pts). I'm surprised we were not informed about these changes, as they are quite profound.
 
5.0.2.2 patch = The Secret Streak Stomper patch

It happens in all prize fights; character, elemental, medici, monthly holiday, etc. Instead of a slow rise in enemy FS, there is a steeper difficulty ramp.

Streak 18 - enemy FS 50k
Streak 24 - enemy FS 80k
Streak 33 - enemy FS 100k

And a lack of variety. Instead of a high, medium, or low, it is all one uniform level of FS to choose.

This makes for interesting, tough battles, but it slows the climb. Your momentum is easily derailed and past 20, you go into every fight like it could be your last (strategy change: forget leveling the weak, this is about survival, bring at least 2 carries).

It wouldn't be too bad if streak restarts were so dreadfully dull. Slogging through 1-10 without a lucky multiplier (5x plz!) is a sleepwalk and then a dozen fights later it is a nightmare. Seems a little severe.

I dunno, the scoring thresholds don't look too different (except for the maniac that got a BILLION in the Double diamond PF!).
