I've been wondering, outside of the current No Pain No Gain situation, how exactly does the BB meter usually work? Does it depend on damage or number of moves or combo count? Does the defender gain more than the attacker?

While we don't know 100% how it works here's a quick rundown of what is known about meter gain
    • Certain characters naturally build meter faster than others
    • Meter gain is hard capped at 100%. This means that if you have a base of 50% meter gain from move bonuses and you get haste you will not go up to 150% meter gain.
    • Getting attacked builds meter faster than attacking
    • Higher combo counts tend to give more meter
    • Blockbusters do not give meter to the attacker
    • Non damaging moves do not give meter (Outtakes, Bursts, and Taunts for some reason Egret Call gains meter though)
    • Heavy Reign cannot gain meter from crits inflicted through Blockbusters
    Vex and Boogiepop like this.
