Compared to all other relics, the Guest Star relic is WordArt-tier.

Just a basic extruded star? Not even any visible fillet or chamfer on the edges?
Only one flat color throughout, and no interesting lighting to compensate?

Having 5 super basic cylinders as the base doesn't help either.

it would be cool AF if there was gems or maybe braindrain's/ minette's symbols on there or something, but I hate how it lacks in awesome sauce :(
 
Even though Guest Stars' implementation realy has major flaws, the reason why this relic looks so simple can be attributed to the fact that the Guest Stars are presented as a fundamental part of this game.

Simpleness is understandable but that doesn't mean it has to be the most basic and cheap looking thing in the entire game when they include various unique characters in them.
 
I had a look at all other existing relics and the one consistent design element that makes them unique is having a skull somewhere in the design. Without the skull or heart this relic loses its brand identity. Like others on this thread, I would love to see this relic design changed.
 
Personally, I don't think it's necessary to change the appearance. It's just a waste of money for devs. (I really want the money to be used for balance adjustments…) What's important is not the appearance but the content, guys.

That's incorrect. Balance adjustments and art changes are not handled by the same team internally, so there's no dependency. There is no increase in costs, as no new staff is being hired. The biggest time consumer would be that of QA work, however since what's being proposed is a replacement and not a completely new visual aspect, they can quickly retest it.

I'd also argue that visual improvements have the same weight as balance ones. Balancing helps keep the game from getting stale, however visuals play a big role in that as well, and maintaining a good look is key for player retention and attraction

This is not so much an argument of what's more important, rather than suggestions should be proposed freely, and rely on the devs to continue using their own judgement on what to implement with higher priority
