Purchased coins with Theo, but action timed out with server error. Tried again after dismissing dialog, and the purchased registered with animation, but available currencies were not updated on the store screen. When I returned to the home screen I found I had been charged twice as much as I intended to spend, though I did get all the coins purchased.
I think it fair to assume that no action has been taken when the game tells you it's having trouble connecting to the servers and there is no change in the amount of currencies displayed after getting that message. This was obviously not the case however.
