Materia Girl is fun, but she's just a tweak away from being really fun. Even though Annie has a lot of multi hit attacks, 10% for SA1 to trigger (15% with Accuracy) is still rather low. Imo increasing the proc chance, but reducing the Star Power gained would make the SA feel better.

SA2 on the other hand is quite annoying to juggle. As there's no guarantee that each buff will cycle, and you may end up getting Haste 3 times in a row. Which is weird to have, because she already gains BB Meter every second. So here are my proposed changes for both

10/15/20% chance to gain 3% STAR POWER meter when either Fighter is HIT (includes Blocking)

While in STAR POWER MODE, gain permanent HASTE as well cycle between PRECISION or DEADEYE for 5/7/10 seconds on each activation. Both BUFFS are removed when exiting STAR POWER.


The proc chance is now doubled, however the amount of Star Power is reduced to only 3%. Again, considering how many hits her combo have, this will make the star power gain that much smoother, and in general you'll gain more SP meter.

SA2 now always provides Haste, along with either Precision or Deadeye. Their occurance is also no longer random. You always start with Precision and then get Deadeye on the next activation

Haste is a way to nerf her, like barrier and gust buster.
Yes, those buffs are good but we know you don't want them.

Yes and no. It's mainly a nerf if you have another character that grants Haste or you explicitly have Martial Outlaw. The fact you can't reliably control the Deadeye and Precision greatly diminishes their utility.

If you can figure out a way to retain Haste while also having Deadeye and Precision, I'm all ears. I originally though of having Haste always and additionally have Precision or Deadeye. The problem however becomes, what's going to scale?

As such, I'd rather keep the BB Meter gain and buff it up, so it benefits even more from the improved Star Power duration

Oh, thats actually cool, even with the little nerf with her % for star power.

Is a bit simple but meaningful! i like it.

but i don't get the duration of Deadeye and precision, you can deactivate power star and activate it to refresh, give it a timer just will make her a bit more messy to use, but if you are skilled with you can rerrol for it quickly.
Also, guarantee a precision kill could be a bit harder.

Maybe we can get a chance to get haste instead.

Why rely on a coin flip to get what you need when there are units that give you exactly the buff you want without the gamble?

For sure there are units who uses randomness as a whole weapon like Deal Breaker and Chaos Doubles, but I just can't see her randomness having an upper hand compared to the units that can grant the buff you want.

Added shifting to SA2. You now always start with Precision and get Deadeye on the following activation. Since it's just 2 effects, cycling between them is going to be pretty easy

Yep, and that's already the case for Triple Threat. For her, it's kind of needed, since she can get permanent Invincible. Here, it's more of a case of having something for scaling. But given the buffs and rate of Star Power gain, the duration should probably be lower, so it's more meaningful.

Edit: lowered it to 5/7/10 seconds. With her new SA1, you should be able to maintain a pretty long Star Power meter. And with the inclusion of cycling effects (Precision first, then Deadeye), it will require a bit more Star Power meter to reset the Precision, which I think is fair considering the buff to lower randomness on both SAs
