Hey everyone, we just released a small update that fixed some issues introduced in 6.2. Here's the full details.

Update 16/4/2024 (6.2.1) :

  • Fixed an issue where the game could freeze or slow down on the Social Hub.
  • If you purchased the Crown Jewels (Theonite) or Medici Kickback (Canopy Coins) Daily Passes it was possible for your current Theonite or Canopy Coin totals to display incorrect amounts. This has been fixed.
  • Fixed an issue where Parallel Realms or Prize Fights could freeze during combat or loading into fights.
  • Fixed an issue where some Fighters could have their sprites appear visually corrupted or glitchy.
  • Fixed an issue where Big Band - Brass Bandit had the wrong values for his 2nd Signature Ability.
  • Fixed an issue where the Daily Event Relic Pass was not available to purchase again after completing the Pass.
  • Fixed an issue where it was possible to claim the rewards on the Backstage Pass multiple times. Naughty naughty!
  • Fixed an issue where some mail was using placeholder text.
HUAWEI RELEASE

After a bit of a delay, the latest updates are now available on the Huawei App Gallery. However, please note that due to some technical issues, we have had to disable all purchase offers from Huawei releases.

It is strongly recommended that if you are a Huawei user you should download the game from the Google Play Store if possible to ensure you have access to all features in the game.

NEW MONTHLY FIGHTERS

As usual, we’re adding six brand new Fighters in this update! Each month a brand new Gold and Diamond Fighter will debut as monthly exclusives in Event Relics. The Gold Fighter will also be available on the All Access Track of the Backstage Pass as a guaranteed, final reward!

Although only two new Fighters will be released each month, if you want to try these Fighters out yourself before they appear in Event Relics, look for them on Recruitment Nodes in Parallel Realms. You may also run into all six of the upcoming Fighters in random battles dotted throughout the game.

PREVIOUS MONTHLY FIGHTERS ADDED TO RELICS

Previous Monthly Fighters will start to appear in regular Relics with this update!

The first batch are the Fighters added in 5.4: Red Rider, Blue Streak, Final Fang, Altar Ego, Psykid, and Starlight Rose. Look for these in all the usual places like the Cabinet of Curiosities, Premiere Relics, Character Relics, Elemental Relics, etc.

Going forward, there will be a constant influx of brand new monthly Fighters appearing in event Relics AND the return of older monthly Fighters in regular Relics in every major update!



NEW STAGE - HILGARD’S CASTLE (NIGHTMARE)

Hilgard’s Castle is Marie’s former home and is filled with memories. Some good, some bad… and some are the stuff of nightmares.

This twisted, alternate version of Hilgard’s Castle also comes with a brand new musical track: All That Endures. Keep an eye out on our socials and Youtube channel for when we upload the full track soon!

Arriving on this stage is a major event in Marie’s Story Mode in 2nd Encore on consoles and PC, so be sure to check it out when she launches in 2nd Encore on March 26th! (Check out that slick cross-promotion!)


This stage appears as a possible randomly selected stage in all modes, but you can also find it by playing Marie’s Daily Event on Master Difficulty.



PRIZE FIGHT STREAK RECOVERY

Losing your Prize Fight streak can be quite painful, so in 6.2 we’re streamlining it a bit! Now the first time you lose your streak in each event you will always get one free streak restore to get you right back into the game.

After you’ve used up your free streak restore, you’ll be able to spend Theonite to restore your streak as before. However in 6.2 we have drastically reduced the cost, and they no longer scale with your current streak. You’ll pay the same small fixed amount of Theonite to restore a streak whether you’re at 10 Wins or at 100 Wins.

Theonite streak restoration has varying costs depending on the mode you’re playing. Here’s a breakdown:

25 Theonite Restore - High Stakes Events
  • Gold and Diamond Character Prize Fights
  • Monthly Event Prize Fights

10 Theonite Restore - Beginner Events and Currency / Material Collecting Events
  • Bronze and Silver Character Prize Fights

RIFT BALANCE TUNING

There was a pretty major Catalyst rebalancing back in 6.1, and - after reviewing player feedback - we’ve made some further adjustments to a few overperforming Catalysts.

RESURRECTION RELIC SHARDS

With Marie’s new release period coming to an end, so too will Wishful Premiere Relics. Here are all the changes that come along with that:
  • Wishful Premiere Relics have been removed from sale. You can no longer purchase these Relics from the Cabinet of Curiosities, the Relic Store, or any other Offer.

  • This does not affect any Wishful Premiere Relics you already own. Relics you own when 6.2 releases will not be removed from your inventory, and you can open them at any time, however…

  • Wishful Premiere Relics that you already own no longer grant Resurrection Relic Shards in 6.2

  • All of your current Resurrection Relic Shards have been converted into Canopy Coins at a rate of 1 Shard to 1000 Coins. These coins will be sent via in-game mail.
    • Ex: When 6.2 releases, if you have 10 Resurrection Relic Shards you will receive 10,000 Canopy Coins.

  • As all Resurrection Relic Shards will be converted into Canopy Coins, you will no longer be able to purchase Resurrection Relics using Shards.



EVENT RELIC DAILY PASSES

Looking for more ways to get Monthly Event Relics? These new Daily Passes might be exactly what you need!

Once purchased you will immediately get one Monthly Event Relic. Every day after that for 5 days you will receive another Monthly Event Relic for a total of 6 Relics. As with all Daily Passes, you need to log in on each of the 5 Days to collect the Relics.

  • Fixed an issue where nodes could become frozen after leaving your device idle for too long.
  • Fixed an issue where nodes could completely disappear if there were network issues.
  • Updated Double - Altar Ego’s Moves loadout to include a Taunt when found on a Recruitment Node.
  • Fixed an issue where Fighters on the Boss Nodes of Nightmare Difficulty maps were missing their Marquee and Prestige Abilities.
  • Fixed an issue where tapping a Healing Node at the start of a map could remove all the nodes after it.
  • Fixed an issue where fights could get stuck in the starting nodes of some maps.
  • Fixed an issue where it was possible to select two nodes at once. Don’t be greedy!

FACEBOOK ISSUES

For the last few weeks there was a serious issue that prevented Facebook users from entering the game. This took much longer to resolve than we would normally like, but unfortunately, our hands were tied as we waited for Facebook to review our case. Eventually, we were able to get Facebook logins enabled again but the fact that many players were unable to access the game for 24 days is unacceptable. Thank you all for your patience while we dealt with these issues.

After the Maintenance for 6.2 concludes there will be some compensation rewards waiting for everyone.

EVERYONE in the game will receive the following compensation bundle as a general thank you for your patience:
  • 1x Lovestruck Relic
  • 1x Shamrock Relic
  • 100,000 Canopy Coins
  • 100 Theonite
There is also an ADDITIONAL extra large bundle for players who were unable to log in via Facebook and unable to play for a significant period of time:
  • 10+1 Lovestruck Relic Voucher
  • 10+1 Shamrock Event Relic Voucher
  • 2,000,000 Canopy Coins
  • 2,000 Theonite
  • 2x Diamond Keys
Any players that had purchased the All Access Backstage Pass for February but were unable to login due to Facebook issues will receive ANOTHER bundle in addition to all of the above:
  • Backstage Pass Progress for February and March will be maxed out. Any unclaimed rewards will be sent to your mail.
  • 1x Parasoul - Indomitable
  • 1x Robo-Fortune - Buffer Zone



We STRONGLY recommend that everyone make sure they have more than one kind of login binding on their accounts to ensure they can always access Skullgirls Mobile, even in situations like this where Facebook was completely unavailable.

The 'Email' option is the safest and most reliable login method to have on your account.

I hope those changes on rift catalysts actually help, we will see.

Wish we had more bugfixes and expected to see some character rebalancements that will at least help some really outdated or just straightforward bad variants see some actual gameplay (fighter tuning pass) because some of them really need it like dia Cerebellas, but guess not.

Decent Meh patch overall, there is nothing bad, but was expecting to see the fighter tuning pass for sure.

Wasn’t expecting streak restoration to be implemented so soon! Nice for hitting the milestones but will likely inflate the top30% and 10% threshold.

Not sure the catalyst nerf will do too much. Corrosive Element is just straight up too toxic and should be redesigned. Either grant 5 stacks of Miasma so there’s a way to respond, or make it so you can’t die from it. Cripple Decker’s issue isn’t how much damage is dealt but how short the timer is on fatigue.

Probably unpopular opinion but I dread the “Parallel Realm resets every day to celebrate the launch”. Could there be other ways to encourage play without making us do mindless, compulsory chores? For example, you could double the rewards for a week like Holodeck mayhem. You could reset accolades so we can earn rewards again but not limited to playing a lot this one week. You could also try Twitch Drop events or Post screenshot events for rewards.

100% agreed. I dislike PR in part because it resets so often. (The other part is that the rewards are just straight up Not Worth The Effort for me -- slogging through hundreds of nodes a month with modifiers that are actively hostile toward any kind of "fun" is a high price for maybe getting enough Diamond shards to pull one of the very few non-exclusive fighters I'm missing, and I don't particularly need any of the other resources the mode offers.)

Yes, doing 22 matches a day is quite the burden on top of everything else (especially as it coincides with the end of the Event PF and BP) I know clearing PR everyday is not compulsory...but, come on, at this point no one wants to leave rewards on the table. (and the "No Mercy" accolade is no longer a good enough incentive for a daily reset). As Dusty00 pointed out, doubling or tripling the rewards for PR over the same time frame would workout the same as the daily reset... but considerably less work.

  • Updated Double - Altar Ego’s Moves loadout to include a Taunt when found on a Recruitment Node.
  • Fixed an issue where Fighters on the Boss Nodes of Nightmare Difficulty maps were missing their Marquee and Prestige Abilities.
  • Fixed an issue where tapping a Healing Node at the start of a map could remove all the nodes after it.

FACEBOOK ISSUES

For the last few weeks there was a serious issue that prevented Facebook users from entering the game. This took much longer to resolve than we would normally like, but unfortunately, our hands were tied as we waited for Facebook to review our case. Eventually, we were able to get Facebook logins enabled again but the fact that many players were unable to access the game for 24 days is unacceptable. Thank you all for your patience while we dealt with these issues.

After the Maintenance for 6.2 concludes there will be some compensation rewards waiting for everyone.

EVERYONE in the game will receive the following compensation bundle as a general thank you for your patience:
  • 1x Lovestruck Relic
  • 1x Shamrock Relic
  • 100,000 Canopy Coins
  • 100 Theonite
There is also an ADDITIONAL extra large bundle for players who were unable to log in via Facebook and unable to play for a significant period of time:

We STRONGLY recommend that everyone make sure they have more than one kind of login binding on their accounts to ensure they can always access Skullgirls Mobile, even in situations like this where Facebook was completely unavailable.

The 'Email' option is the safest and most reliable login method to have on your account.

4 months of waiting and the only thing we got is streak pitty. no fighter tuning pass . only two things were in the coming soon and we only got one of them . One of them is one night work and we didn't get the other one. I hope that the 8 months of waiting will satisfy as after this disappointing update 😔
 
Well, update has ended, but no balance adjustments… I believed that not announcing an adjustments was just a little surprise treat after the update ended, but it was wrong. I think it should have been written as “in development”, not “coming soon”.
 
Few concerns:

1) Seeing as the new fighter releases heavily prioritize golds and diamonds every month, does this mean that silvers will basically never release unless a new character comes out?

2) It would’ve been nice if the expiration of the Wishful Premiere Relics in-game reflected the actual expiration of them. (In-Game expiration showed about a week longer for their stay vs. the immediate 6.2 expiration that this update caused.) I wanted to save up til the very last moment then see what stuff I could pull from both relics, now I can’t because in-game timers aren’t reliable :/

3) Don’t you think it’s a bit…much to have such a detached period of time between variant release and when you can get exclusive backstage/event variants in relics AND THEN release them as a premium for another 3 months? It was already kind of weird that Marie’s relics and variants were 2x the price for two updates long (with it usually being 1 update long), now this?

4. If AE is going to cost a daily ticket, could it at least be worth the effort/changed and tuned up? (Or hopefully stop making AE cost a ticket, as time progresses it may potentially be thrown to the wayside because of how many dailies are starting stack on a day.)

5. Are certain bugged fighters ever gonna get fixed? Shadow Puppet’s Freeze SA has flashed twice for YEARS and, while it makes her a lot easier to deal with, it’d be cool if she… worked as intended.

6. Why exactly did PF scores stop being posted and when is a “later date” ??? The PF hasn’t been posted since the end of last year… (edit: actually the beginning of this year…whoops)

Also small petition to buff Inner Pieces SA from Wind Fighters to give Miasma instead of Regen.

WHOAAAA Deal Breaker Peacock has unique entrance animation and BB special effects!!! It is like the coolest thing I’ve seen from SGM in a longgggg time!

Managed to recruit her on Parallel Realm and was pleasantly surprised and impressed!

Her entry, unlike all other Peacock variants coming in from a hole, is riding her car in with the gang! Also when using Argus Agony, the screen turns into some retro/vintage cartoon style that is just cool beyond words. It truly captures Peacock’s wacky character and I love it!!

Will there be more of these unique variant only animations in the future? The only other one I can think of so far is Death Wish Umbrella.

I've been noticing these, too. The new variants have a lot of love. Not animations, particularly, but the Barbie Parasoul's transformation, Spiderman Painwheel's BB transformation, Shrek Beowulf's Onion/Tomato splatter, and the special light on tag-in and match start from the Mercy Valentine come to mind.
