VIEWING PARLOR CHANGES

We have made some additional changes to the way rewards are handled in the Viewing Parlor.

GZghVB9.png

As of Update 7.1, we are removing the five-videos-per-day limit.

Videos will now refresh every 30 minutes, with players free to watch as many videos as they choose. Rewards for watching videos will now alternate between a 1-hour 2x XP Boost, and a standard reward, which can include Canopy Coins, Theonite, XP Treats, or a variety of Relics.

The 1-hour 2x XP Boost will activate automatically as soon as it is earned. The duration of these XP boosts is also stackable, and can be used in conjunction with manually activated XP Boosts, mode-based XP boosts, (such as those found in the Holodeck), or even with additional Viewing Parlor XP Boosts.

Utilise video-based boosts alongside other boosts in your inventory for huge XP gains!

None of this is to mention SGM’s biggest, most ambitious addition this year; the arrival of our Guest Stars! We hope you’ve enjoyed teaming up with Minette and Brain Drain, and we’ve been highly impressed with some of the creative, jaw-dropping combos players have been putting together since the duo’s arrival. Work continues on our third Guest Star, Roxie, whom we hope to see arrive, wrench in hand, in 2025.

As Skullgirls Mobile approaches its eighth year, we want to thank you, our community, for your continued dedication and support. Your endless enthusiasm - demonstrated through your fantastic artwork, cosplay, patronage, streams, ideas, and feedback - inspires our efforts to develop and deliver new and exciting ideas within the Skullgirls universe. Thank you for being part of this wild ride!

Here’s to another marvelous year in New Meridian! We look forward to sharing it with you!

Until next time… That’s a wrap!
  • Happy Holidays from all of us at Hidden Variable and Autumn Games <3
This is gonna be great to update on Android & iOS as well 😁

Was really, really hoping for some variant balance adjustments.

  • Black Dahlia: Retuned Marquee Ability: No Time to Die now has a 30-50% chance to grant 10 seconds of Regen & Haste when she takes a critical hit.
I think Dahlia's No Time to Die nerf is appropriate. My guess is that Accuracy also increases the value, so if you go for a full Accuracy build you'll have a 75% chance to proc No Time to Die. And respectively, Resistance will lower that. But since no one is running resistance on Offense, that just opens up more diversity for Dahlia builds. Smart move all around

  • Big Band: Retuned Prestige Ability: Ability reverted to its previous status before Big Band’s 2024 overhaul. PA now charges for every 10 hits landed on either Big Band or his opponent.
Necessary. This really nerfed BB heavy Big Band builds, while just making Beat Box better than he already was. So good on reverting it

The 1-hour 2x XP Boost will activate automatically as soon as it is earned. These XP boosts are also stackable, and can be used in conjunction with manually activated XP Boosts, mode-based XP boosts, (such as those found in the Holodeck), or even with additional Viewing Parlor XP Boosts.
I'm quite excited for this to be honest. With Holodeck Mayhem you'll be able to rack up a lot of XP really fast.

I'm super happy to see another Dahlia join, and be paired with Bruno no less. Was hoping for the Neutral Dahlia to make a debut, but looks like we'll have to wait longer for that. In any case, yet another one to benefit from Dark Pony support

  • A reworked Big Band
Fix his air time bug when fighting heavy fighters please.

Alright patch. Hope January one includes variant balance adjustments to keep the game fresh

This update is bringing more balance to the game. I hope they will soon take into account the variants with useless SA.

Dark Might has been in ruin for years and now they put a useless SA2 on it, there are many Squigly variants that are obsolete and we could keep counting.

This uptade is good and i was rlly looking forward to that diamond Eliza fighter, but i'm a bit disappointed that this update won't bring fighter reworks. As a main Cerebella, she has many fighters that deserve to be reworked like understudy, headstrong, gray matter, brain freeze and heavy handed, because their abilities have been the same for years now and with the constant change of META they are not shining enough. But overall, i'm yearning this Eliza rn, hope that she comes home!1000021227.jpg

Another year of great accomplishments, HVS devs! Can’t believe I’ve been playing this for 8 years now since LINE beta… quite a long journey to see where we are today! Happy holidays to all at HVS wherever you are!

Overall small but good patch! Glad to see a limited way to get those elusive variants with the holiday shard exchange and reruns of monthly exclusive relics.

Viewing Parlor and the new stackable XP boost is awesome! Clever way to give us a reason to watch while increasing your passive income.

These Catalysts balances look good! Looks like you have talked to some regular rifters and taken their feedback into consideration. Hope to see new catalysts and more frequent adjustments.

You guys continue to bang out awesome new palettes each month! Please keep that up👍

Can’t wait to see what you have in store for us in 2025 in addition to Roxie and new fighters. Hope to see new Silvers actually… Roadmap before June this year? 🤣

As a huge ATLA fan, Katannie is the one I'm looking forward the most, hopefully her SA's are good, while Skameos, I mean Guest Stars weren't touched (Seriously 4 millions is a bit much) the NTTD nerf will make some of the long streaks defenses change it up a little bit.

Seriously, what's with Big Band? Bro finally gets a rework and has been hit with a nerf hammer twice, let the man enjoy his rework for a little :confused:

The lack of character reworks is very noticeable, but I'm guessing it's gonna be part of the 2025 roadmap so I'm not gonna complain that much (hopefully a rift reworking, some new game modes and better PF rewards economy are included)

A better update than the 7.0 patch, here's to 10 more years of Skullgirls Mobile

And as always: #NerfHeavyHanded

Are you talking about the PA changes on Band? If so, it's actually a pretty good buff. The old change, where it built up from using Specials, really only benefited Beat Box, and hindered BB heavy Band builds. Band builds will have more creativity now

  • Futile Resistance has been rebalanced:
OLD: Opponents suffer 1-6% damage when landing a hit that deals less than 1% of Big Band's max health. While facing Big Band, opponents have their PIERCING ignored.
NEW: Opponents suffer 1-6% damage when landing a hit that deals less than 1% of Big Band's max health. While facing Big Band, opponents have their PIERCING reduced by 35%
Bueno, durmieron al gordo nuevamente...

Looks decent for a minor update. However I have some feedbacks.

I don't like the change on Black Dahlia's Marquee, it doesn't make it easier to deal with (if that is what your aim is), it just makes it more RNG dependent if you are using something like a Psykid with 20% crit chance. Feels more like a buff for her as it nerfs the reliablity of Inverse Polarity with less duration on the regen too. Other than that im still just gonna use the exact same units I use against her, this "buff" is just a slight inconvenience if anything.

My first impressions on catalysts:

CRIPPLE DECKER is now mid at best due to constant nerfs. Which is a good thing as people will need to get more creative.

Decent nerf to WITHER FORECAST, not that it needed it.

ANGRY FLINCH sounds like it is buffed overall, now it has more leeway for some setups but will be WAAAY MORE hindering the longer the fight goes. I don't like it.

New AUTOIMMUNE sounds disgusting, less RNG but overall sounds like a HUGE buff.

SHOT IN THE DARK felt way too similar with WITHER FORECAST, really good take on the catalyst but also a really good buff.

FUTILE RESISTANCE nerf is... Dunno, imagine a "TANK CHARACTER" being somewhat good at defense, sounds weird yeah?

There are some good bugfixes however I gotta remind you guys of Peacock's Blockbuster bug which crippled her overall performance by quite a lot if you are on a BLOCKBUSTER focused build. With the addition of Guest Stars she cannot chain her Impending Doom and Lonesome Lenny with her Deadly Airport anymore. As this wasn't specifically mentioned in the 7.0 patch notes, I believe it is a bug and should be adressed as soon as possible.

In a recent E-Mail I sent to the HVS, I had some questions about ACCURACY and I was told that ACCURACY should also effect PRESTIGE ABILITY CHANCES and GUEST STAR CHANCES. In my in-game testing I can easily see ACCURACY actually affects GUEST STARS as intended, because Knight Shift Minette's stun chance was way more reliable with full ACCURACY. However with my testings with a full prestige Big Band with max ACCURACY showed me that, his UNBLOCKABLE DASH attack chance is not really affected by ACCURACY at all. Please fix these inconsistencies and update the in-game description of ACCURACY accordingly so it becomes more clear.

Also I don't want to see a pop-up that tells me to watch an ad just to get 5k canopy coin, it feels incredibly cheap and there should be an option to disable it.

Alright update, I was hoping for more changes (the kind related to balance). Still incredibly disappointed that there STILL is no delete/clear button for load outs, and it still seems that guest star mechanics are not fully fleshed out (why are they affected by enrage and SA’s but not by precision?). Also sad to see that the issue with Umbrella’s feeding time not interacting with bubbles correctly is still not fixed.

Glacial Ghoul Squigly = Elsa (Frozen)
Wave Warrior Annie = Katara (Avatar: The Last Airbender) (and Sagan is Momo the flying lemur)
Don Passione Eliza = Bruno Bucciarati (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part V: Vento Aureo)
Stellar Huntress Black Dahlia = Kafka (Honkai: Star Rail)
Shear Force Filia = Deku (My Hero Academia)
Rhythm Rider Big Band = Lúcio (Overwatch)

Hooray new fighters! Except for Black Dahlia, I recognized all the references. Hyped for more neutrals and more Overwatch (Widowmaker Parasoul next?).

Utilise video-based boosts alongside other boosts in your inventory for huge XP gains!
Can someone give an example to explain? The time or the XP multiplier is being stacked? Extending the clock or juicing the 2x to 4x?

So with the XP, the 1hr one will add to the timer when you get another. You get two in a row and it becomes 2hrs. The existing 4 and 12 hour ones are on a different timer and they stack the effects, giving you 4x when you have both!

Edit: I was wrong! So there is no 4x. Getting the 1hr from ads only extends the total time. You can get it from ad first, then pop a 4hr for a 5 hr. Disappointing 🙁

The old No Time To Die was weird. For characters that can't deal with her, you want to avoid crit, while characters that melt her absolutely want to go for crit. Yes, it's more RNG based now, but I think it provides a nice medium. Old version just melts vs Slime users like Umbrella

Beowulf - Pickle Baller
SA1-While Beowulf is alive, the active Fighter gains EVASION for 7 seconds and 10% BLOCKBUSTER METER when the opponent is KNOCKED DOWN.
SA2-When any teammate EVADES an attack, grant HEAVY REGEN for 10 seconds and 2 stacks of PRECISION.
It's just me or are they making wonderful supports?

Annie - Wave Warrior
SA1-Every 15th COMBO HIT, transfer up to 2 opponent BUFFS to self and reduce opponent BLOCKBUSTER METER by 25%.
SA2-While Annie has living teammates, gaining a BUFF permanently increases DAMAGE by 10% and heals all teammates for 5% HEALTH.
Every Time she gains a new buff she permanently increases damage by 10% or just once?
