Why can't I sacrifice?

I'm trying to evolve my big band, but I'm getting this message. Can someone please help? or at least tell me what is an "Active Team"?

I have already checked all my prize fights and Deployments, and that big band isn't listed in any of them. I did a few story missions without him in my team in case that was the issue, I favorited and unfavorited him, I took off all his moves, but he still won't be sacrificed. HALP

Go to training mode and swap him out. If that doesn’t do it see if he’s in your rift base (if you’ve unlocked that yet).
