Yep. These MAs is just additional defense. Can say more, you need at least 48% piercing to deal damage to Model Leader if she have - 5 armor, 50% def, and 11 MA (40% def), in total 190% def.

About 33%, bc you cut defense with your piercing by %. eg 5 armor - ~100% defense + 50% in stats = 150%, you need cut little more than 1/3, so it's abt 33% piercing. With 50% piercing you will cut 75% defense, exactly half.
