Update: April 26
Fixed an issue where players would be unable to use certain Fighters if they had recently been used in Deployments.
This was a server side fix and did not require any updates to be downloaded.
Update: March 24 - Version 4.6.1 notes:
- Fixed an issue where all Skill Trees would display a Bronze Key requirement, regardless of the actual cost. This was a visual only bug.
- Fixed an issue where Double - Creature of Habit could gain stacks of Miasma even while blocking in some situations.
- Fixed an issue where Painwheel - Biting Cold would not trigger her Signature Ability when defeating an opponent while they are blocking.
- Fixed an issue where the chat would not function when the player's device is set to Russian.
- Fixed an issue where Creature of Habit's Signature Ability would not display correctly in Russian.
Hey everyone,
The first update of 2021 is here! Some of our big focuses for this year will be improving existing features and giving players a smoother playing experience in general. You’ll see the first steps in that direction in this very update! (Of course, we have some other BIG plans too).
We plan on sharing a more general Roadmap for 2021 later this month, so stay tuned for more details.
Now, on to the update notes!
NEW ADDITIONS
NEW FIGHTERS
This update comes with some three new Fighters, including the first ever Silver Neutral Element Fighter:
Silver: Peacock - Prism Plumage
Gold: Painwheel - Biting Cold
Diamond: Double - Creature of Habit
We’ll be revealing more about these Fighters very soon on our social pages, so don’t forget to give us a follow!
You won’t be able to find these Fighters in just any Relic in 4.6. That leads us to...
ST. PATRICK'S DAY EVENT
Failte and welcome! This annual event is heavily themed around Air (Green) Elements and has two main features:
The Shamrock Relic is similar to previous Event Relics and will contain a small pool of themed and popular Fighters (including the new Fighters listed above).
The CRAIC SOME HEADS Prize Fight will start on March 17th and run for 4 Days. This event gives big buffs to Air Fighters, so you’ll want to get your Fighters ready! Like other special event Prize Fights, there are huge rewards on offer, including lots of Shamrock Relics to help you get those new Fighters.
Stay tuned to our social media for further announcements about this event!
NEW EVENT - HOLODECK HAZARDS
By popular demand, introducing our first dedicated XP focused periodic weekend Event: Holodeck Hazards.
This Event is hosted by everyone’s favorite Science Shark, Stanley, and he needs your help to try out his new VR training room. This Event only grants XP, and it grants a LOT of it. The map size is quite small, and every node is completely randomized with high level Diamond Fighters. Unlike other Events and Story Chapters, you’ll encounter Evolved versions of Bronze, Silver and Gold Fighters here.
To really let players harvest XP from this Event, the map will refresh every hour. Once you’ve finished the five nodes you don’t have to wait long to come back and try again!
While we are planning to eventually make this a regularly occurring event, for now this will be a special event that will only occasionally pop-up on the weekend. Stay tuned to our social media pages for information on when the first Holodeck Hazards event will be deployed!
VISUAL UPGRADES
STAGE IMPROVEMENTS
Many of the stages have been given a general improvement pass. Anti-Skullgirl Labs, Maplecrest, Bath of Tefnut, Rooftops Assault, Medici Tower, NMO Arena and many others have had their textures improved, NPCs added, and many other animated improvements.
The lovely staff at the NMO Arena have also had new banners hung for Robo-Fortune, Fukua and Annie.
STAGE TINTING
Some new tech has been developed to allow the stage colors to be tinted during fights. This makes Blockbusters look extra special and closer to how Blockbusters appear in Skullgirls 2nd Encore. This tinting also makes some abilities look really spectacular!
NEW ICON
You may have noticed the new App Icon! Sagan told us he’s just letting Annie take a break, but we’re pretty sure he just wanted to hog more of the limelight.
First he kicked George off the loading screens, and now he’s taking the App Icon from Annie. I wonder where he’ll end up next?

OTHER CHANGES
TUTORIAL UPGRADES
When opening the game for the first time Valentine will run you through a tutorial explaining how basic combat works. We’ve all been through it at least once!
This tutorial has been given a complete overhaul and is now much more focused and streamlined. This should get new players into the game faster, and will better prepare them for the fights ahead. As part of this process, some of the tutorial has now been spread out throughout the first Story Chapter.
Random opponents have been removed from the first few Chapters on BASIC. The difficulty of the first few Chapters on BASIC have also been adjusted to give new players a smoother experience.
If you know anyone who has wanted to get into Skullgirls Mobile but were worried it would be too complex, this new streamlined tutorial should get them up to speed in no time!
FIGHT ASSIST (aka AUTO BATTLE)
Many early players were confused by how this feature worked and, when they did use it, their Fighters were often too weak to properly rely on it. To help with this we’ve made two major changes:
VIDEO GUIDES
A new Video Guides button has been added to the Support tab in the Options Menu. This will direct players to our Beginner’s Guides playlist on our YouTube Channel, where they can find dozens of useful guides on helping them get started in the game.
Do you have a video you’d like featured? We love sharing content made by our players! Send us a message on our social media and we’ll take a look.
