There's a lot of comments about the AI doing stuff in the middle of combos. I'm 99% sure that's not supposed to happen.
I can think of a few things here

- The AI character is getting unflinching
- Your combo is open to getting punished. Look at the color of the combo number.
- You're playing with a bad connection and it's just lag messing stuff up.
- It's simply a bug
@Shiko, I've been trying to get some footage of the blockbusters or tag outs that I've seen occur in situations it normally shouldn't happen. But I can't replicate the encounters in any setting with a good connection. I'm of the mind that all the shenanigans pulled by the AI discussed in this thread are due to lag. Just can't fathom why there would be lag in a single player fighting game.
Because the majority of games are online these days. Ensures no cheating for one of the biggest reasons. Aside from that the people you're fighting in PFs it's pulling from online and they said a pvp mode of some sort is in the works as well.
At the very least what you're playing on might help also if you can't capture footage.
I have not seen the air combo interrupt bug.
However, I have experienced a bug where a "stunned" AI has gotten up and not been stunned. If the stun icon is still there I expect them to be stunned and have lost 10+ win streaks because of this.
Outside of this I have yet to see anything that I would consider "cheating." Mostly just cheesy AI frame exploits, which is annoying but fair/pseudo-predictable.

So I believe unless you time it perfectly (which doesn't happen as often as you'd think) there is a frame or two between the ground finisher and the attack that sends the AI into the air. The AI is able to exploit this frame with BBs. If you interrupt the ground combo before it ends and start the air combo you can circumvent this in my experience.
@cheesetiger251 I experienced getting punished when going from a full ground combo to laucher quite a bit pre 1.2.1. But that patch made it more reliable.
Since then it has never happend to me despite starting to get to 50+ streaks. It might be a case of doing the laucher a moment too late, which I'm guilty of more then I'd like.

I didn't realize how big the Fighter Score difference would be at that level. Well, rest assured the gap is a lot less significant once you have a much higher FS as well.
Pretty sure the only network is before and after the fight, as that's generally terribly slow so I can't imagine how they'd manage to make the fights so silky smooth if it was doing network at the same time.
Fighters in general are really hard to do over a network. 3D shooters and a lot of other game types can fake things pretty well by showing smooth frames on the screen even if the actually data is half a second out of date. But that doesn't work so well on a genre that's based on frame by frame precision.
Anyway I've noticed the AI tends to get more and more aggressive as it's fight score exceeds yours. It seems when it's really really amped up like in PF mode against a 2X team, it's so aggressive it starts to do the impossible.
Because of multiple effects the game is much much easier when you have a team that's approaching max fighter score for its league, than if you have a low or middling team. For one thing you don't get super-amped AI and for another you start to get paired with mediocre randomly generated opponents like Aeon and Venus.

I've only been playing about a week or two but i've managed to get a streak of 27 in the gold prize fights with a silver 2500 fs Headstrong Cerebella. i usually just spam throws/battle butt the opponent into the corner and then spam unblockable titan knuckles every time they try to get back up. then have a charge attack primed to hit the next fighter as it drops in. don't know how long this will continue to work though. or whether it will work with other fighters, i don't think any other fighter has the range that cerebella has on her charge attack. Titan knuckle's animation makes it a lot clearer to judge the distance you need to be at to hit too.

I don’t know who you play but I could never win based on throws. As soon as the enemy builds their block buster they release it and their damage is always double what it should be for their rank and such. My B.B. is very high and so is damage but B.B. barely kills. So cannot win based on throws.

We don't want to be party poopers, and yeah, obviously SG has some NSFW content right there in the game, but very pornographic fanart is a little over the line. The game is recommended 12+, so we have to consider there's younger folk on this forum.

I mean honestly though a lotta younger people play mobile games, I'm feelin like it was a good decision to make the game more available to a younger audience--the forums a friendlier place too.

Just to yank this thread back on topic... from what I've read of a lot of the posts it's generally summed up as:
When doing a combo, the enemy character is able to interrupt my in impossible situations. (eg, in the middle of a J3 combo, the game will suddenly switch and they are doing a ground BB on me)
This sounds very much like your device is struggling to run the game correctly, and may be freezing briefly (even if it looks like it's still playing).
I would recommend going into the options and disabling the Lighting option. It should speed up the game a bit.
If it still persists, I would close as many other applications as possible on your device. Try to play with just Skullgirls active, as each other app may be leeching some processing power.

I have this problem as well, I think it boils down to frame-perfect openings, input lag and growing aggressiveness of the AI. I have an iPhone 7, so I think my phone should be able to keep up.
