Painwheel Buff Suggestions

With the Big Band buff in 6.3, Painwheel is now arguably the worst character in the game on offense. She doesn't have a clear game plan or role since many characters far surpass her in damage output and versatility. If Painwheel was more themed around brute force and "fatalities" she'd have a more distinct identity in the game.

Here's a list of changes I would make if there were to be a Painwheel buff in order to achieve this new identity:
-Pinion Dash having 220% damage scaling at level 6 and knocking the opponent higher into the air like Giant Step (this should allow Painwheel to compete with Filia's DPS from Ringlet Spike)
-Hatred Install having ~341% scaling at level 6 and 3/5 stacks of Precision ON USE at level 9/15 (Painwheel needs a blockbuster with high damage and a strong effect in order to compete with Ms. Fortune's and Fukua's blockbusters. Precision on a blockbuster is unique and adds to Painwheel's "fatality" theme)
-Flight Risk having a faster activation animation and more continuation as to be a good combo tool for Painwheel. If Flight Risk hits also inflicted Blockbuster Lock and Tag-In lock, this would give Painwheel a more cohesive game plan by enabling her to use charged attacks
-Death Crawl inflicting Quietus for 15 seconds at max level instead of her current Bleed (Painwheel should be dealing raw damage not damage through drain effects, and quietus would support Painwheel's themes of being a "fatality" character as well as support her new debuff heavy playstyle as to not require the building of accuracy)
-Deadeye and Death Mark for 10s when using Burst (would fit the themes of brute force and would be a unique effect that inspires creative use of a burst move on offence)

With these changes, Painwheel would have a more unique identity as the "glass cannon" powerhouse that would allow her fo fulfill a role in the meta and compete with characters like Dahlia, Parasoul, Filia, Fukua, and Ms. Fortune.

I'm not sure. Doesn't Painwheel have great offense thanks to her variants' SAs? This wasn't exactly the case with Big Band.

I think Cerebella needs more help than Painwheel, to respond to your very first sentence.
 
Hi, I noticed you mentioned disliking “drain effects” but didn’t mention if/how you’d change other moves that also drain such as Cruel Lily and Violet Grudge. Would you also change these moves? Are you currently satisfied with them?

I’d like for both moves to be tweaked a bit as Violet Grudge is kinda negative on hit so your best option is using it as a mediocre finisher and literally nothing else, and Cruel Lily gives arguably one of the slower bleeds at 2/4 secs, is negative on hit too unless you send them into the air first and being outclassed by Stinger (arguably most of her SMs get outclassed by Stinger), mixed with the fact that both moves are EZ punishes if blocked. Maybe Violet Grudge can do a wall bounce?

If we are to follow the idea of Painwheel being a berserker glass cannon type would it be better if more of her moves allowed her access to enrage and/or unflinching? I could potentially see a number of buffs/debuffs that can help her gameplan such as: (The Underutilized) Disable Specials, Haste, Death Mark, Wither(?), Curse(?), Disable Tag-In (?), Heal Block/Inverse Polarity (??).

My idea behind why I picked them are as follows:

Disable Specials/Tag-In/Curse/Wither - Locking your opp. off from options to counter attack allow you to continue your onslaught.

Death Mark - More Crits, Higher DMG output.

Haste - easier access to BBs that are decently synchronized to combo into each other.

Heal Block/Inverse Polarity - probably a hot take and my least confident one since if you’re not facing an opp. with healing properties, you’re essentially playing a brick. But with dealing with annoying heal effects like AssG, Dahlia’s MA, Starlight Rose, Curl Scout, Mummy, etc. it could potentially come in handy, but they can also be relegated to new Variant SAs instead of inherent Character Toolkits.

Also, Painwheel’s MA, specifically Grudge, needs a rework as to actually assisting with pushing an aggro moveset forward without needing to be hit as a) Painwheel’s Health is horrible and b) Buff Cleanse/Control has been beefed up so much in the past (especially buffs like Enrage and Armor) that dealing with a Grudge PW is relatively easy compared to a few years ago.

Painwheel’s CA is a bit rough outside of evading certain moves and projectiles as both “attacks” (Swipe Foreword and Tap) are pretty negative of block and hit with the exception of FR Tap > Launcher is the only true “combo” I could find. I also fail to see what scenario you’d go through the effort of tapping her button just to grab when you could just… grab (Other than evade move > grab, I guess but how often are you doing that??)
