[OFF TOPIC] How to start a Fight 101

Dude, are you kidding? This is ******* pro writer level stuff, give yourself some credit! I love to analyze characters and create personalities for them, but this is on a whole other level! This is God tier stuff man!
I agree with this guy right here.
I can't think of anything like that, so props to you, @Wulfden !
Gosh! Thanks you guys! Truth is, I didn't think I really fit on the forums as much, being completely real, but, having this thread and having people read all this stuff? It really means the world to me, honest!

Can you also do one for Squigly? If that doesn't bother you, of course.

And I'll totally get to Squiggs before the night's over, I gotta redo some voice work I'm doing for fun, and, soon as I finish up with those little things I'm all set for it! I'm hoping if the concept is as we have now? We can add in character development instead of just jokes and gags to up the ante, and maybe if I do get a chance, I'll draw some stuff up!

Seriously, you guys, thanks for making these forums a wonderful place, and thanks so much for reading my work!!!

No, man, thank you.
My mindset back then was the same as you, now look at what's happening to me now.
Besides, you're also contributing to a better community, just like the rest of us here!

EDIT:
I thought I posted in full, damn slow internet.
Now it's grammar. I need to start elementary again.

Oh my god I don't think I could root for a character more than her now. What about Cerebella?

Kay so, let's begin with Cerebella since I'm pumped!

So, as we already know from Mobile and a spoiler if you didn't, Cerebella is an orphan, and one from the war in No-Man's Land. Now, that said, the reality is she's a character that is easily led by her emotions throughout her story and in her aspirations. She wants to be strong, she idolizes Beowulf because he's her favorite wrestler and even takes moves from him like a true fan! But reality wise? She wants what was taken from her, much like Ben and Parasoul, she wants something out of life because she was dealt with a bad hand. She wants to find love, and she places this sort of love on Vitale, eagerly doing what he wants all for him to love her back (whether as a father or not, that's really up for debate tbh, but he's the closest to being a father so I like to say it's vague JUST for Vitale to be himself and have Cerebella coming back for more.)

Now, that said, Vitale plays his cards right and Cerebella is doing the dirty work, trained by Black Dahlia, the works, who's not even to say she used to be a bunny girl with Vice Versa? In the show, I'd like to bring that up more than just gags too. Cerebella is a trained woman who ins't just for entertainment, though her personality shows it. She's extremely sensitive to abandonment and constantly has to remind herself that "This is for Vitale, only the best for Vitale." For herself to be "good" for Vitale, she has to be perfect, she has to be literally his right hand woman so maybe, just maybe, it'll make up for all the love she never got from anyone else. Considering the fact that she grew up without parents, she's not exactly in any place to "complain" about who does love her, its if they love her, and Cerebella is constantly taunted about that, or at least, it's brought up many times. "Is Vitale's love true?"

Whether she sees him as a father figure or not, she can't take the idea that the one person she banks on, when the chips are down, he'll be there with a guiding hand and maybe a pet name or that he'll make things better for her. She doesn't want to hear that maybe in fact, it's all a lie and she's been a pawn this entire time like the other Medici Goons. She doesn't want to be alone again.

So in this case, the show plays on that. She's the Medici muscle, but she constantly doubts herself during her acts, she keeps talking to herself, maybe things are worth it, but she doesn't know truly like everyone else. Parasoul in game is super critical on that: "Your boss won't be as merciful."

Cerebella fears being imperfect for Vitale because if she can't measure up, she has no one else to impress, no one else to try and win their heart over. No one to say, "Cerebella, good job! I'm so proud of you!"

Not even Beowulf can do that, even if she's his biggest fan.

So, she starts to learn what true love is, by going about her daily things, like rustling up certain shop keeps because they haven't paid the Medici bribe money so they get protected, and maybe she notices how as she's tussling up one of those same balding, rich fellas who really could use a good smack, she notices a little girl who cries out for her dead, and immediately, she sees herself. She sees that same sad little girl orphaned on the streets before Vitale rolls in his limo, glides the window down, realizes her "potential" and lets her in.

She realizes she can't hurt anyone who has a family. She can't and doesn't want to take away someone who she never had. Over time, there's more glaring things about Vitale Cerebella doesn't want to own up to, but is forced to see. The same man can't afford the Goon Money and at Medici tower, is beat down in front of her and is expected to "finish" the job. She doesn't of course, but nearly knocks him out and lugs him back home because she can't help but think about what the little girl might be thinking of. She doesn't want to. She can only recall herself wanting someone to show her the ropes and make it big.

And later in, she realizes something, when she's out in the casino as the main attraction and lifting elephants with ease, those same people who call her name and shout her praises all the while, they are the ones who love her. The people who throw the roses and ask for her autographs, the people who made Beowulf the biggest star in New Meridian since that time he cameo'ed on Annie, they're her people now too. And she can't but smile, when she notices the people amongst the crowd who make it to the show, and when she sees the children who look at her like she's a super hero?

Her eyes shine like stars and she tosses the elephants into the air, the crowd gasps, she falls downwards posed and eyes closed, performs a head stand while Vice Versa is thrown on top of her feet and catches the animals as the crowd goes wild.

It was the most successful act of the show, and the reviews raved how this could ultimately be the best show she's ever done, but she doesn't care about that. No.

It's when she's signing autographs, a little girl who looks very familiar comes to her, offers her a crude little drawing of a orange and green figure lifting grey blobs and "CeRbELA" scrawled on crayons and asks for her to sign it... Cerebella finally understands what she was missing all this time and instead for the first time in her life, comes down and asks for the little fan for her autograph.

But all this is spanned here and there, while Cerebella is designated the regular things, like find some egret thugs and bash them up a bit, she makes sure to travel the beaten path she first remembers scared her, and when the children of all ages and sizes, colors and kinds come from their hiding spots, she lets them try Vice Versa and tells them stories about how she became Cerebella, Star of New Meridian, before bading good luck, passing on what she earned from her shows, and making them pinky swear on Vice that they'll do the right thing and make themselves the newest Stars of New Meridian, and she'll come back and show them how to flex their muscles like Vice Versa with an old fashioned "Diamond Dynamo!"

Cerebella realizes, then, she's not alone anymore. She has a new family, now, and they will never leave her like she used to fear, because now she's here to stay. For them.

Awww, that's a very heartwarming story!
Now it's hard to think of a comedy scene for Cerebella with all that heartwarming stuff.
This is really good either way though.

"Bella! What's your training routine???"

"Live healthy, love strong, and 50 reps with the arm cruncher."

You'd think she's joking, but right after you're shown this lovely few seconds of a torture device in which you insert your arms into two rubber gloves, strap yourself in a set and your arms on the gloves, and train by two cinderblocks dropping onto your arms back and forth.

"Only the best for Vitale!" She says, flexing her arms with Vice, they don't understand her training methods.

They never do.

- Also consider a late night commercial featuring a rip off of Vice Versa called "Ad Hominem" in which Bella herself talks about how she used to be a wimp, but with the new Ad Hominem, now she's a star and everyone loves her, before lifting the camera rolling and tossing it and causing the lovely

"We are not liable for damages by living hats, personal trauma or death included as well as..." To flash across the scene as you question just who would buy that.

Cerebella, all the way in Medici Tower, still can't decide if she should get a new color of the invention, or, stick with Orange Vice for a retro look.

Vice Versa is not amused.

It was never amused since the first roll.

But seriously, thanks!!! While gags are important, I wanted to talk about her role first before jokes!

I understand prioritizing the serious life stuff before the jokes, don't worry.
Being sponsored for a product line of Vice Versa rip-offs is a pretty good gag on its own, just have a commercial of it playing in a television every time a television is in the background.

"LOOK FENG, THERE I AM, THERE I AM AGAIN FENG." For the umpteenth billion time is a gag in itself when Feng just wants a spotlight for once.

But gosh, really saying when you made the point that it was a bit hard to make up gags for her after the personal life stuff, BOY was I worried pfft.

Haha, that's just me after seeing emotional stuff, I just can't think of anything funny.

Feng having a jealous face whenever Cerebella says that line is going to be a nice gag, too.

Also gonna go on a limb and say Cerebella herself is really, really lazy like Amethyst from Steven Universe, in which, she HAS the potential to do things when it doesn't come to Vitale, but...

Feng: "Cerebella, just, why didn't you go ahead and just clean your room?"

Cerebella: *Sitting on her bed, throwing Vice in the air back and forth* Feeeeeeennnngggggg have you seen this room? It's fine. I got a system!"

And poor Feng has to try hard to stay patient and reflexively points at some Bella's used clothes and she just yawns, stretches out, and just waves it off with

"Yeah... I'll get to it. Eventually, I gotta get into the mood for cleaning, yo-"

"Vitale's coming in 5."

"WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME, WHERE'S THE BROOM. OH TRINITY WE NEED MORE COUCH PILLOWS, THIS PLACE NEEDS TO LOOK LIKE ANNIE ON ICE PEOPLE." She yells, getting vice to sweep while she's searching through piles of trash and clothes for the vacuum screaming mid clean at Feng,

"WE NEED TO TAKE OUT THE BEDS AND MAKE IT LOOK LIKE WE DON'T LIVE HERE. I NEED THIS PLACE SPOTLESS, FENG, GET THE TROUPE, WE HAVE TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE WE DON'T SIT!!!"

And Feng doesn't have to do anything, she already knows what's coming, so, she casually relaxes on the couch Bella is currently lifting, screaming like a banshee while trying to vacuum. Feng simply grabs a can of soda nearby, crushes it, and tosses it towards the garbage can, which, Vice is taking out while Bella is dusting everything and nearly punching a wall in the sheer STRESS.

By the time she's done, Bella is dead on the couch, Feng grabs herself and Bella something to drink, and flops herself.

"When... Is... Vitale... On his way?"

"Oh, he's not. I just said that to-"

Later that day, Feng is pronounced dead on the fire escape of their apartment.

Ohh, god, I love her so much. It would be so nice to see her at all, consider she is kind of just... There. All the other girls have some sort of importance, and all she has is big boobs, a hat, and a daddy kink. I don't think she would be lazy though, rather I feel that she would almost always be tired from working so hard. She does her best to help out and is loved by pretty much everyone, but she doesn't care because all she wants is Vitale('s dick). No she doesn't kill me

Okay first off thank you for that because tbh that's the problem with Bella! She doesn't have much going for her, Filia is the kind and sweet teenage girl who does no wrong besides Samson being her contrast, Carol was forced into where she was now and through the pain she still has a heart, Parasoul is thrusted into the princess role when she never got the chance to live a regular life, I mean, honestly where's Bella's place to shine?

So, like, to build off from that, would you say that on the inside, while Bella is the star of New Meridian, deep down, that show woman's spark, all that flair, when she gets home, it's all gone and all she would like to do is kick back, relax, and maybe reward herself with a dessert before prepping herself up again the next day?

Really, canon Bella is up for debate, but man, the idea that Bella really is just tired from the things placed on her, and when she's home, that's the real Bella... that's the interesting idea.

Or, of course, there's the whole,

"Let's have Cerebella try all these odd jobs in an effort to find herself!" Which literally means since the Medicis run everything, she's gotten herself mixed up as a fast food restaurant cashier, a pet shop employee, Ice cream shop taster, one time as a sanitation worker, a construction worker for about a week before she couldn't take the boredom of lifting "light" stuff, and so on like before trying out a talk show like Brunch with Tiffany. A little sassy, a little crass, but besides juggling everything on her plate trying to figure herself out more, she's still Cerebella at heart "gag".

But also you can't tell me she doesn't do makeup videos because have you seen that eyeshadow? When will your flop fave ever pull off that Medici green, with the Canopy black eyeliner and the Shea Versa butter contour. Like, Bella did that™.

And the upskirt shots, never forget her overwhelming amounts of upskirt shots, especially on that Ultimate Showstopper.

So with your first idea, do you mean that when on stage, she's all energetic and showy and stuff, but on backstage she's all tired and lazy and stuff?
Then on your second idea, Cerebella is just Spongebob?

Oy, that's the other problem. I'm banking on the first, mainly because then it gives room for Cerebella to try and just be herself, or, well, be a bit more relaxed like how she was before Vitale gets mentioned and gets extremely energetic all over again.

The other thing would be like SpongeBob, but I'd say more like how you always find a character doing something similar to Anna from Fire Emblem, she's always somewhere, be it a warrior, a merchant, or some character who's actually god tier (One could say that's Bella now lmao). It's always referenced, but never really brought up anymore than

"Hm, didn't I see you before?"

"Oh, totally, I do... (Lists all her talents) and I'm a wrestling enthusiast!"

But you see, that in itself is sorta bland as a gag. The main problem with Bella I've got is as @BrolaireOfAsstora mentioned: She's sorta without much purpose without Vitale as her end game / goal. One could say Bella is all about makeup, or heck, she might be one of those really funny social media idols who try to tell you how to get yourself all gussied up for a date and it'd still somewhat work.

The main real gag you could make is Bella's thirst for Vitale, but that's not much of a gag, nor character development.

Being real? I'm always open to ideas to interpret Bella, but it's gonna take a bit of thought for her to break out the writing of Bella's story line being mainly just Medici Muscle and Vitale's number one fangirl.

It truly is sad how a character like her could only ever experience any real growth by having to discover her "father" really and truly is a horrible person who just uses her. It's implied that Vitaoe also uses her for more... Unsavory acts, unfortunately. Perhaps her story could start from there; Cerebella has to come to terms with the man she loves not being a saint. However, all the stress from that and everything else breaks her, and now she is mostly useless to Vitale and they toss her out on the streets. Utterly broken, she wanders the streets as an empty husk, almost unrecognizable to everyone except for one: Umbrella. The little recognizes her idol and pretty much forces Bella to open up, releasing a wave of emotions she didn't know she was holding in. Parasoul is nearby, listening, and when Umbrella inevitably asks if they can keep her, she realizes the wealth of medici knowledge inside her brain could be useful and says yes. Cerebella enters a new life (for a time) trying her hardest to please the royal family. Umbrella treats like a surrogate sister as her own never has any time for her, making Parasul jealous. As Cerebella begins to learn how a real family is (with a few hiccups, most notably forgetting that she DOESNT have to seduce any men and accidentally nearly seducing Adam,) she slowly grows aware that Parasoul is just using her for her knowledge. At dinner one night, the topic of the medici's comes up yet again, and Umbrella protests it, confirming Bella's thoughts. She apologizes for taking up their time and glares at parasoul on her way out, simply saying "I guess I knew you didn't have it in your heart to care for anyone, huh?" Upsetting Umbrella to no end. Now an orphan again, she concludes that she is doomed to walk till she dies alone unless someone can come up with a happier ending.

True, true. That is quite the problem...
Though I was hoping that the "Origin Stories" from the game are going to fix that.

Now I'm confused. Does the story of the anime happen before or after the original Skullgirls' (yes i mean the game) story?
If you don't mean it to just be for the anime(artists pls), then I guess that this is applicable to Skullgirls 2(mikez pls).

EDIT : wording and added a few words.

I think that could be a wonderful addition to the aspects of it, like a sort of 2 Broke Girls hint with Bella no longer being really useful to the Medici and having to make it on her own, though, this could also be what Big Band and Parasoul are sorta arguing on too. With Bella really hitting Parasoul hard on the head about how she was using her, it'd be hard not for Ben's words to reach Parasoul that way...!

That said, you could also have it where right after, Umbrella of all people is the one Cerebella learns she's more than just a circus troupe star, and even with Umbrella asking for her autograph after dragging Adam to the circus for a super secret special mission™, it's really Cerebella who asks for Umbrella's autograph.

I think compared to Parasoul's sobering story and Beowulf and Annie's takeover hilarity, Bella should get the more personal and heavy hitting story where it really does give you an insight to her identity and her own ways of trying to understand herself maybe, so the audience really sees what's been going on inside her mind since being orphaned due to the war in No Man's land.

I think, what we can do, is that we have Bella on her "last" thread with Vitale. Either she does what he says, or, he's lingering on kicking her out so of course she's pressured to do what he says because she's eager to please him, that way it doesn't exactly cut into the "Is this during, before, or after SG" so to speak. It'd be plausible because one could easily have Bella messing up here and there and worried she'd only get Vitale's anger instead.

Which makes her desperation more so a wonderful place to start where she's beginning to realize Vitale isn't all he's cracked up to be, and she's trying to find things to really fill that void, which, if for the show...

Could really be the dramatic part of it as she serves as the heartwarming but tough drama in which you're silently hoping that Bella gets that happy ending until Umbrella gives it to her, you know?

I think a big part of the show would sorta have to stay vague on timing, because Marie would be in it, but it doesn't take over someone's story mode where she's obviously going to be destroyed / Doc Avian "dies" and so on. That way, if anything does get ready for SG2 or gets used, hey, at least there's a good boundary between Out of Character, and Character Development.

Speaking of OOC, daddy drain is practically never going to happen. He's way too jaded. However, Big Daddy Ben could happen, and probably would. This may be reaching, but continuing off of my thoughts, Bella gets dragged into the ASG. Most of the kids recognize her and love her, but her caution is pretty clear. Then, it becomes warranted as brain drain wants to experiment on her and VV, but the kids stick up for her, something not even Umbrella did. Leduc, PC and Buzz girl are wary, but we slowly see the group of them and Bella slowly warm up (with no small thanks to Ben). With Ben, he's harsh on her, but is also very supportive. She begins to believe she finally has a home, and nearly lets her guard down... Until Painwheel breaks out. She tears through the lab, killing huge numbers of its staff until PC, Leduc, Hive, BD and BB crush her with ruthless efficiency. Shocked to see just how cruel the labs really are, she's now forced onto the run by three groups. The labs, because she is aware of them, the royal family (who just want to capture her for her secrets), and the Medici, who want to kill her because she may have spoiled some of their intel. From there I'm thinking maybe she finally finds somewhere to live with Minette? Idk. Poor Bella just doesn't really fit in anywhere, huh?

Mm... Honestly the real question then becomes who gets to come OOC for the hilarity such as Beowulf's and Annie's takeover, or who gets to have their own drama I.E: Parasoul and Bella.

Really, if the show hitches off with the comedy, we could still use Daddy Drain, but for the serious character lines, it would go straight into the canon as a whole and behaviors are, well, behaviors you would think! I suppose the real thing to capture in the aesthetics is the idea that it's as wondrous as an old vintage Radio Show Drama in tv form for Bella and Para, but the rest of it would basically involve the slice of life, gag riddled, fun bits that are meant to make you laugh, with certain "segments" being like:

"No Egrets and the Bass-line Blues"

or

"The perils of Cerebella"

That said, I like the idea of Bella being pushed into other spots of the SG universe in her effort of trying to find a home, but at the same time, I doubt the ASG labs would really chase her out without her giving reason to, like saying she slips out she used to be Medici muscle and the gang gets suspicious and Bella leaves because she doesn't want to endanger anyone, and already feels uneasy with how she used to be Medici family and no one really likes that. Really, Poor Bella™ is something that really would bring out the aspect of the dramatics of a show where she's basically the orphaned pet who wants to find a home on her own.

I wanna say that the show itself should be tongue in cheek because it's a lot like a sitcom / slice of life, but the segments that are meant to be other topics and more different from the hilarity has it's own shining spotlights. Maybe like how Animaniacs really brought that out, and Bella having that similar drama as Rita and Runt, who are also trying to find a home while still having hilarity such as Slappy Squirrel and the like right after.

Bella going around and realizing the little things about the SG universe is what would really bring out the drama and the downright fridge horror we really don't realize, because she's still naive in which she would likely ask what happened to the ASG members, or even what the Medici have done to the people of the labs before going on her way. Always wandering, but still never giving up hope in a sense.

In some sense, Bella wouldn't really have an end game so to speak, so, there's always going to be "material" to build off on before ending up back at the Circus reinvigorated by her fans and the kids, specifically Umbrella, and going forward despite realizing and maybe accepting that she may "be" alone, but she has her own family she made herself through the people in her life.

I guess that'd explain her desperation in the show, as well as keeping it's story as a sequel to the prequel. Nice one!

Yeah, if Cerebella gets to live with Minette, Ms. Fortune would find out, realize that Cerebella is (ex)Medici muscle, get upset at this fact, then Cerebella's on the run again.

If we're going with that idea, then there's only one ending I can think of that and it's: after all those attempts at trying to find a home, as told by @BrolaireOfAsstora , Cerebella is found by the Medici, to which she just gives up and is brought to Vitale, who then gives her a second chance. Kinda like what you said back at post #1079.

Aaayyye, thanks! I'd love to keep it like a sequel to the prequel but still very much in place so even if you enter it without much knowledge like a lot of people for Mobile, we still got a wonderful way to insert the plot and the characters!

That's the other thing I think will most likely be the end game, she's come out thinking maybe there's a way out of the mafia life, that there is truly something wonderful on the other side like Umbrella would want her to, but she becomes a tragic hero so to speak, and comes back to Vitale for a second chance because... "He's all the family I've ever known."

We know for a fact Vitale would take her in again once she's done realizing there's really... "no" way out of the Medici lifestyle, but, she's through seeing Vitale as the man she thought is worth her heart. Now, he's the man who's got her caged like a canary. It doesn't stop her hope for the kids outside the mafia life, but sure has left her aching and tired from everything as a dramatic finale that really takes the cake of making her as she pretty much is: A tragic heroine. It would really give her perspective on the Medici a lot more wise than as she has it now, so to speak..!
